Meet the team

 

charlie-wardleCharlie Wardle is the Founder and General Manager of CYM. He is a qualfied Chartered Accountant, has an MBA from Cranfield School of Management, is qualified in Marketing and has over 12 years business and commercial experience at a senior level.

His passion is helping people increase their confidence, overcome problems, providing opportunities and seeing people achieve their goals. He loves sport, exercise, activities and challenges and is usually present at the weekly running club, walking club and all the hikes and climbs.

jane-kerindiJane Kerindi first approached CYM looking for support and before long she completed the Great Eastern Run half marathon in under 2 hours. She became a key volunteer helping others who were looking for support and she got more involved with the charity.

In February 2009 she was part of the CYM Kilimanjaro team and she successfully reached the summit. With Charlie, she set up the running club and walking club and now works part-time for CYM.

 

 

 

simon-collingeSimon Collinge is a key volunteer with CYM with his main interest being hiking and climbing. He was part of the CYM Kilimanjaro team in February 2009 and successfully reached the summit. He did so well with his fundraising and training last time that Charlie asked him to help with the February 2010 trip, so Simon will be going to Kilimanjaro again!

His main role is to help people with fundraising and training for Kilimanjaro and other hiking and climbing trips.

 

 

 

steve-burnettSteve Burnett is a key volunteer for CYM and an all-round action man! He seems to do everything and anything physical including running, walking, hiking, cycling, climbing, swimming and squash. He is a Physical Education teacher and squash coach and also delivers First Aid courses.

With Charlie, he set the new Guinness World Record of longest distance covered in 12 hrs as a 3-legged pair (64.4km) and he will be part of the CYM Kilimanjaro team for February 2010.

 

 

 

jill-gardnerJill Gardner is a key volunteer for CYM and this picture shows Jill climbing Ben Nevis in August 2008, where she raised nearly £1,500 for the charity. She is a qualified Level 3 Personal Trainer and has a real passion for exercise and belief that it can be a significant help in mental wellbeing as well as physical wellbeing.

Jill is also a nutritionist and helps with the CYM courses that explain much more about how food affects your mood!
